CIDO is owned and operated by the non-profit Creston Community Radio Society.
The Creston Valley Community Radio Society was founded in 2001 in order bring quality community radio service to the Creston Valley. 97.7 FM, is operated by members/volunteers. We are a not-for-profit organization funded through memberships, sponsorships, government grants, donations, and advertising.
We have a transmitter output power of 20 watts, and broadcast from the western side of the Creston Valley from the Creston Valley Wildlife Management Area office building. The studios are located in downtown Creston.
CIDO 97.7 FM promotes local artists of all kinds and features local musicIans as much as possible. One of 977 FM's primary goals is to increase coverage and grow the listening audience with a stronger signal and more quality programming. 97.7 FM needs financial support from the community it serves in order to accomplish this goal.
The station is automated using the SAM Broadcaster software. A studio is available for live broadcasts. Volunteer DJs may play their music from CDs or bring in their own lap-top computers which contain their music and playing program. DJs can also broadcast remotely over the internet from a remote location with their own computer and go on the air through our master server at our studio location. Our programming is broadcast over the air at 97.7 mhz and streamed over the internet from our website
